Friends of Wollaston Beach (FWB), in collaboration with Save the Harbor/Save the Bay (SH/SB), and Wollaston Yacht Club (WYC) sponsored Quincy’s Community Climate Workshop on August 5. It was a huge success with nearly 50 people in attendance, including Metropolitan Beaches Commissioner (Quincy) Kerin O’Toole and Quincy City Councilor Dan Minton.
It was the 8th in SH/SB’s series of community climate workshops, which will be used to aid in the creation of recommendations for SH/SB’s response to specific challenges that come with the changing coastline in our communities from Nahant to Nantasket.
For those interested in submitting additional comments regarding climate resiliency in Quincy, please send them to: zwyer@savetheharbor.org with subject line “Quincy Climate Resiliency Comments.”
The recording of the workshop will be uploaded on the Save the Harbor website at https://www.savetheharbor.org/mbc-climate where SH/SB will also soon be uploading a summary as well as other workshop materials and resources as this process continues.
Thank you to the Officers, Directors and Members of WYC for providing the venue for this workshop. Special thanks to Allison Wiliams and Lisa Moriarty for all their hard work on behalf of this event.
