FWB is excited to announce that DCR has added a floating chair at Wollaston Beach in addition to two sunbathing chairs. The DCR website will be updated to reflect this information.

Thank you to Save the Harbor/Save the Bay, our legislative delegation of Sen. Keenan and Reps. Mariano, Ayers and Chan, and Councilor Dan Minton for supporting FWB’s efforts to make Wollaston Beach accessible to everyone.

While a mobimat may not doable at this time, FWB will continue to work with DCR and our elected officials to see if it can be available in the future.

Sunbathing Wheelchair

Beach wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are managed by waterfront supervisors. Beach wheelchairs are available when weather conditions are favorable and waterfronts are staffed. Please see the waterfront services schedule (/doc/waterfront-services-at-dcr-managed-swimming-locations-0/download) for the most up-to-date information about staffing at DCR waterfronts.
